Tenon Tours is a boutique tour operator that specializes in planning custom vacation packages to Europe. The Travel Specialist position is responsible for creating and selling customized itineraries for our guests traveling to select destinations in Europe. Components of this job are time-sensitive, so you must be able to prioritize and work efficiently. Expansions into more European destinations have enabled our team to grow.

  • Prior personal European travel and sales required
  • Must be able to multi-task and should be extremely detail-oriented
  • Must be proficient with computers – Google Docs and Sheets required, CRM preferred
  • Prior sales experience is required, hospitality sales preferred
  • Ability to work and make decisions both independently and in a team environment
  • Adept at prospecting and using effective consultative selling principles and practices
  • Excellent client service relationship-building skills
  • Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Negotiation and closing proficiency
  • Persuasive communication skills: verbal, written and presentation remotely (ie., phone and email)
  • Ability to cope in stressful situations within a fast-paced environment
  • Independent, self-motivated, competitive, assertive
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Initial consultation to gain insights into the client and their needs to prepare an itinerary, trip quote and planning deposit
  • Educate clients on product and basic travel knowledge for destinations
  • Create a proposal, build a detailed day-by-day itinerary with suggested inclusions to coincide with their personalized proposal
  • Work with the client directly to make changes, adjustments and alter the presented proposal as needed while reviewing and managing objections
  • Determine price and regulate overall margin based on company standards
  • Work directly with Travel Agents to create tours and provide net pricing
  • Once a sale is generated, introduce the client to BYSS team member and collaborate when necessary
  • Follow-up upon return for client retention/future travel with Tenon efforts
  • Continued personal destination knowledge
  • Meet monthly sales goals
  • Complete daily tasks as required
  • Work hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-6pm ET
